EXPERTISE

Marilyn (Lynn) Huston’s practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, freedom to operate analysis in the biotechnical arts, patent validity and infringement, and intellectual property rights enforcement.

Lynn has served as in-house business law and patent counsel for one of the country’s largest public university systems and has also served as in-house patent counsel for a publicly traded biotech company.  Combined with over a decade as an accomplished basic research scientist, these efforts have provided on-the-ground experience with the legal issues central to both commercial and basic research.  Lynn is fluent in a spectrum of biomedical technologies ranging from medical devices to gene therapy, monoclonal antibodies, cytokines, cloning and biologics manufacture, but has further represented clients in diverse technical areas ranging from downhole tools to firefighting equipment.
